Omega 3 and You

Omega 3 is good for the heart and the mind.
If you are tired and having trouble concentrating, Omega3 can help.

n3 fatty acids, popularly known as omerga-3 fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids. Nutritionally essential n3 fatty acids are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosa pentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosa hexaenoic acid (DHA).  These are essential to the normal growth in young children. 

Omega 3 is an essential fatty acid that 
-reduces triglyceride levels and blood pressure and improves cardiovascular health, 
-improves mental health (preventing depression, schizophrenia, dementia) and 
-prevents some forms of cancer (examples: prostate cancer and breast cancer).
Consumption of more n3 fatty acids than n6 fats can have great impact in preventing thrombosis, immunity, inflammatory system response, arthritis, lupus, and asthma.

Omega 3 fatty acids sources:
Fish oil, fish (salmon, tuna, mackerel, Hoki).
But fish also may have contaminants such as mercury and dioxin.
Flax seed oil (linseed oil). is a botanical source of n3 fatty acids

Fish oil supplements have the 3 essential fatty acids in condensed form.
